PADS of Elgin is a congregate shelter two blocks north of Elgin Community College. Our shelter is open 24/7 year round. In addition to a safe place to sleep, we provide our guests with three meals daily, access to showers and laundry facilities, clothing, shoes, basic necessities, and comprehensive case management. Each guest works with a Case Manager to address what brought them to PADS and to get back into sustainable housing. 

Guests of PADS need to have a connection to our service area (Elgin Township, Dundee Township, Hanover Township, or Rutland Township). Please call the shelter at 847-608-9744 for more information.

In addition to our shelter services, PADS offers open-access lobby outreach services to anyone in our community. Community members can visit our shelter lobby to receive meals, clothing, hygiene products, and relief from the elements without barriers or overnight commitment. These services create accessible entry points for individuals to access basic human needs and connect with additional resources when ready.
