For years, the display of American flags has been one of the most powerful parts of Carpentersville’s September 11 remembrance. This year, that tradition will take on a new setting. Hundreds of full-size American flags will line the pathways of the new Riverfront Park, creating a path our community can walk together as we remember those lost on September 11, 2001 and honor the first responders who answered the call. Along the way, images will help tell the story of that day — offering a place to pause, reflect and help ensure that its history is carried forward to a new generation.
